Not Impressed – I bought this for our 4 week old rescue kitten and when we first put it down on the wood floor she loved it. It went around 5 times and stopped working period. I pushed the button to restart it but, nothing. The battery was still good but what was happening is the battery gets loosened and doesn’t make connection after a bit. My husband said he can fix it so we’ll see. Also, when the mouse ran into her fabric tunnel play toy it didn’t turn itself around or, whatever it’s supposed to do, it just spun in place and stopped. I’m not sure if that was because of the fabric and not being a solid surface or it’s a defect in the mouse.

Cat got bored quickly with it – Was looking for automated toys for our indoor kitty. Tried the PetSafe Dancing Dot but it’s way too fast for her (although now that she’s older it’s a little better) and she’d be more interested in cleaning herself than chasing it. If that thing has a speed control it would be a winner.

My cat loves this toy! – My super-smart, very busy 6 month old kitten loves this toy! It moves in a way that’s very appealing to her and it does actually right itself after tipping over. Sometimes she likes attacking it and batting it around. Other times she seems to enjoy “minding” it – keeping it from going under doors, etc. and will pick up the toy by the fabric tuft to bring it to a new place to play. I have only used it a few times so I can’t speak on the battery life. I wish it would turn itself off after a period of time and I’m nervous I’ll forget about it. Next time I’ll ask Alexa to set a timer to remind me to turn it off. I’m buying several for Christmas gifts!

My cats prefer the other hex bug toy more – I was expecting a better reaction from my cats towards this cute little battery powered Mouse toy however it’s a little jerky and inconsistent with how it runs. I don’t know if there is a setting that I am not putting the mouse on or if mine just doesn’t have some sort of strong connection but I feel like I have to press the power button more than I should have to to restart the Mouse. I will be getting more of the other Hexbug cat toys that look like insects with the trailing tail thing. They love that and it has a more smooth movement to it

This has an on/off switch that is easy to access. – I love the mouse but the battery went dead quickly even after turning it off so I guess you have to remove it. I really like this bug better because it has an on/off switch that is easy to see and easy to use. Our kitty loves them both.

Hmmm – I did not get a remote control with this. But I will say this was equally as fun for my family as it was for my cat haha. After a day or so I noticed its only going in small circles whereas i thought at first it was going straight/diff directions. So overall not sure if its broken but id honestly rebuy it cause its fun

Works on hard surfaces, crept under stove – This little toy (about the size of the head of a toothbrush, with a small tassel attached) is kind of cool, though it only works on hard floors. It spends about 70% of its time flipped upside down, which produces an irritating rattling sound, but if I can enjoy my morning coffee unattacked, fine. It took a while for our cat to warm up to it, now she finds it interesting/perplexing. The package says the toy will right itself when flipped over, but very rarely does that happen. Update: It can and will creep under a stove or refrigerator and get stuck, so be sure not to let THAT happen! Kitty alerted us to this misfortune but was no help in getting it out. My photo shows some of the tools you may need to extract it from under the stove.
