Really cool – Where was this when I was a kid? It’s such a cool concept and the kids loved it. It’s very easy to use. Simply turn it on, flip it over, and kind of toss it in the air a little bit. The propellers start on their own and it’s flying off. It also makes a really neat zooming sound that my son thought was hilarious. You can change the direction it is flying by placing your hand beside it. The kids just like to watch it fly around on its own and they like to guess which way it will turn next. It gives you nearly a hour of playing time, but the charge time isn’t very long at all.

The power switch could be better located and it needs a muffler. Otherwise its good. – My family and I have played with this flying orb for a few weeks. Is it perfect? No. Does it have some questionable design flaws like a badly located and too small power switch? Yes. Is it difficult to learn how to throw it? Somewhat, but that’s not a detractor to the score. The orb does stay lit up and does look cool when flying at night or in a dark room. The fan is very loud when I tried to show people at work the device. I guess you can’t really turn down a fan and they do have to turn pretty fast (hence the noise), but if a muffler could be installed, it would work wonders. I would recommend this flying orb to others and recommend playing with it at a park or a more open area where you’re not going to hit walls. It looks like it could float on water because it’s so light, but I wouldn’t recommend throwing it near water because you may never get it back as it can sometimes fly dozens of feet away.

Flying Orb Ball Toys for Kids – Learning how to throw anything correctly requires a lot of practice. In spite of this, it is a lot of fun to mess with. Their attention is immediately drawn to the lights. Even though it seems to be quite frail, it can withstand rough play. And since it is so light, nothing in the area surrounding grandma’s home has been harmed by it. Nothing is moved since it just deflects off of anything in its path. In general, a useful toy that’s great for releasing a lot of pent-up steam. Although it may take some time to perfect the angles, this activity is well worth the effort. Every member of our family, which consists of three people and a dog, takes pleasure in it.

Feels incredibly cheap for $32! – It’s about the size of a softball and feels incredibly cheap! I worry it’s going to break after falling the first time. I’m returning it. I’m embarrassed to gift it.

NOT THAT BIG – OK they make this thing look big in the photos but its the size of a baseball. It DOESN’T hover, none of these do, it puts out enough force to counteract its own weight some, so it gives the impression of lightness but make no mistake its heading for the floor as soon as you let go. However I can see kids having fun chasing this thing around. The noise is actually cool, kids love noise, its a fan!!. Tiny, tiny on off switch so put your glasses on!.

Works OK, but a bit fragile and expensive. – This is a fun toy, and works reasonably well. Definitely takes some practice. It’s very lightweight, and while it seems OK so far, long-term durability is questionable. After only a few uses, the paint is already chipping, and there’s one piece of the globe that broke. It’s also pretty pricey…I’d pay $15-$20, but $32 is a bit high.

Sideways – This is a cute toy, however, when I tried it before giving it to the grandson I could not get it to fly straight up. It went sideways all the time. I’m going to give it to him anyway and tell him maybe he can get it to work properly. Turning it on is no problem, but trying to put your finger on the in/off button to turn it off is quite challenging with it turning with the blades. Hopefully it does not damage the kids finger.
