Best Buy of the Year – This is literally the best thing I have bought all year. I love it. Simple but fun! Its small size makes it easy to carry around all day. A super great value too. This is easily a 10/10, and I will likely buy another!

Battery dies really fast – This is an amazing Tamagotchi for a Star Wars fan. It’s not supper invasive or demanding, it’s fun to play and makes R2 sounds every so often.

Horrible battery life and product quality – Purchased one for my son in March 2022….it was fun for a bit and then about 30 days in we got the replace battery sign…thought that was weird we just got it. Replaced the battery which reset the thing so now my son was sad he didn’t get to say goodbye to the r2 he was caring for but ok let’s do it again….fresh batteries in all is good….nope batteries barely made it to June. Thought maybe batteries bought a new set from a major battery brand and now the Tamagotchi does not power on. I would have attributed this as an anomaly but I also purchased a Pacman branded Tamagotchi the same time I got R2 and that one crapped out in May with not only with the same battery replacement frequency issues but the screen on the left most and right most stopped working just after 30 days. I owned a Tamagotchi when i was younger and i can’t even remember ever changing it’s battery …ever! They certainly don’t make them like they used to. Lastly Bandai customer service will take foreverrrrr I am still waiting on a followup for the Pacman Tamagotchi since May. If you will never open or play with…get it! If you actually want to play with it … DON’T. Save yourself the money and the tears.

Didn’t get to see any ending before he started over again – I was recently feeling nostalgic for my old ’90s Tamagotchi, and when I went looking online for one, I discovered new Tamas exist and promptly ordered a few (in addition to replacing my old one with another original of the same color for nostalgia’s sake). I got R2 a few days ago and took good care of R2 for his life cycle (3 days), and I was pretty happy with him, but I am really annoyed that it just reset itself at the end. It was only a few minutes after the last time I tended to R2, and I was at my desk with my headphones on while working. As soon as I realized he was beeping, I looked at him and saw the screen fading from black, and a new/unevolved R2 appeared on my screen.

I’m a virtual pets nerd, so read on! Also the picture is boring I took, but you can see it from an angle. R2 is currently sleeping as I write this review. Ok here we go!
